240 scientists — all fired

Friend,

The Trump administration has made its priorities crystal clear: silence the scientists, eliminate oversight, and deliver for the shareholders.

Last week, the Department of the Interior abruptly fired hundreds of U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) scientists and disbanded the first-ever federal advisory committee on scientific integrity. This means that our ability as a nation to manage mineral and energy resources critical to national security will be significantly diminished.

It’s no secret that scientific integrity doesn’t matter to the Trump administration. But SEEC Co-Chair Rep. Paul Tonko (NY-20) and SEEC member Rep. Jared Huffman (CA-02) aren’t letting that slide. They’re leading a group of House Democrats demanding answers — and warning that this move threatens the future of our national security, public health, and climate action. We need to back them up. Will you make a donation to support their efforts to fight back and hold the line?

This isn’t just bureaucratic reshuffling. This is about 240 critical USGS jobs — all gone at the snap of a finger. And it’s about the Trump administration dismantling checks and balances so they can bolster polluters with zero accountability.

We can’t afford to be silent. Not now, with Trump and his allies gearing up to bulldoze what’s left of scientific integrity in government. SEEC PAC is on the case, but our members can’t succeed without your help. Will you stand shoulder-to-shoulder with them by making a donation?

The best way to fight back is by supporting leaders who respect science and protect the institutions that keep our government honest — and that’s exactly what we’re here to do.
