Drilling in Chaco Canyon?

Donald Trump’s attacks on our public lands are escalating quickly.

Last week, he sent bulldozers into Big Bend National Park. This week, he is planning to overturn a 20-year oil and gas ban around Chaco Culture National Historical Park in New Mexico — putting 336,400 acres of cherished federal lands directly in the crosshairs of unchecked oil drilling.

There is nothing dirtier than fossil fuel extraction. Please rush in a donation right now to help us fight back and protect our public lands!

This isn’t just about the environment. Chaco Culture is an irreplaceable piece of history and home to a massive concentration of pre-Columbian Indigenous pueblo ruins. These lands are sacred to over 20 sovereign Pueblos and Tribes, who are standing together in unanimous opposition against this effort to hand their sacred territory over to fossil fuel companies for extraction.

Trump’s plan is to allow drilling within 10 miles of the park’s boundary and directly along its borders, putting these ancient cultural treasures and historical heritage in extreme jeopardy.

This ban was a legacy move by former Interior Secretary and SEEC Member Deb Haaland. But now the Trump Administration is ripping it to shreds.

Our SEEC Members in Congress are leading the charge to protect Chaco Canyon, but they can’t do it alone. Will you rush in a critical donation right now to help us fight back against Trump’s efforts to sell off our public lands to the highest bidder?
