Donald Trump just ramped up his attacks on our public lands again.
He just signed new executive orders shrinking two major national monuments: Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante — opening nearly 3 million acres to toxic mining.

This is only just the beginning.
If Trump gets away with this, next on the chopping block could be the Grand Canyon, the Ironwood Forest, Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks, and Chuckwalla national monuments.
These lands aren’t just beautiful — they’re sacred. The lands and waters surrounding the Grand Canyon and other national monuments hold centuries of ancestral knowledge and are integral to Native American culture, heritage, and traditions.
As SEEC Member Rep. Adelita Grijalva put it, “This has never been about responsible land management. This Administration is handing over public lands to private interests while ignoring the voices of Tribal Nations and the overwhelming majority of Americans who support protecting these places.”
