Republicans Are Touting a Bill They Voted Against

The hypocrisy of the GOP is unreal.

The vast majority of Congressional Republicans voted against the CHIPS and Science Act, which was passed last year making historic investments in tech hubs researching energy and environmental issues.

But that hasn’t stopped them from turning around and trying to take credit: At least 10 of Republican lawmakers who voted against the bill have since touted its benefits to their districts, or outright claimed credit for helping secure its funding.

Our team is raising funds to reelect the lawmakers actually putting in the work to make pro-climate bills possible, not those trying to take credit when it’s convenient. Can you chip in to help us?

This hypocrisy reveals that no matter how extreme the GOP’s official stance on climate change may be, Republican lawmakers know that bills like these are popular amongst their constituents.

That’s because — Republican or Democrat — most Americans want to protect our environment’s health for generations to come, which is why we need to fight hard to elect leaders who will unapologetically fight for our climate.

We’re up against fossil-fuel funded radical Republicans, which is why we need your help fighting back with grassroots dollars. Can you chip in any amount to help reelect SEEC’s climate fighters in Congress?
