We’ve told you a lot about how Donald Trump is firing scientists, dismantling the EPA, and trying to shut down agencies like the National Science Foundation.
But there’s another alarming tactic unfolding: Trump’s EPA is now trying to fake a reputable process by creating their own alternative “science office.” It’s a complete joke, and the real purpose is to put a muzzle on real scientists.
Our SEEC Members in Congress are demanding answers. In a blockbuster committee hearing, SEEC Vice Chair Rep. Suzanne Bonamici grilled EPA officials with a critical question:
“Has any research project been delayed, modified or declined because it did not align with the priorities set by political appointees?”

Unfortunately, she got no real answers. When pressed on exactly which research projects have been stalled, they could only offer a dodging: “I would have to get back to you on that.”
You rest assured, Rep. Bonamici and her SEEC allies aren’t going to take that for an answer. They are determined to push and probe in whatever way is necessary to get to the bottom of this.
