In truly dystopian fashion, Donald Trump just lifted a ban on using “cyanide bombs” to kill coyotes, foxes, and other wildlife on our public lands.
Environmentalists and animal-rights activists are outraged — and they should be. We cannot allow these cruel, lethal tactics to slaughter innocent wildlife just to satisfy corporate greed.
These “cyanide bombs” are just as evil as they sound. Here is how they work: a spring-loaded trap is smeared with scented bait to lure animals in. When an animal bites down, the trap ejects a deadly dose of cyanide into their mouth, killing them within five minutes.
It is bad enough that the administration is using such a barbaric method to wipe out these predators living in their natural habitats.
But it gets even worse: these cyanide bombs don’t discriminate. They have already injured and killed unsuspecting people, family pets, and endangered species. That is exactly why this reckless practice was banned in the first place!
